Popcorn, a can be healthy snack that doesn’t need to be boring! There are times when I need something crunchy to munch on that I can eat the whole bowl of and not feel guilty, well popcorn is what I turn to instead of chips. I make it myself with barely any effort, it allows for a lot of creativity and is simply delicious. I don’t usually drizzle with butter, not even at the movies, what I do do is to use coconut oil for popping and a variety of salts, herbs, and spices for flavoring. Some of my favorites….Wildflower Foods Curry Blend, Truffle Salt, Wildflower Foods Simple Essential Salt Blend, Wildflower Foods Chinese Five Spice, Chili Powder, and an Oregano and Basil combination. Herbs de Provence is another good one and just freshly ground black pepper is amazing. Whether you heat your spices in the oil before popping or toss them in right after, popcorn is a wonderful and comforting snack. There is nothing more healing for the soul than eating a big bowl of freshly popped popcorn, watching a favorite movie or reading a book, and a nice glass of wine. Life is about the simply pleasures.
